Kerala Govt. Logo (High Resolution)
Description = This is the official state emblem and seal of the state of Kerala, India. The emblem is adapted from the embloms of both the mighty Tranvancore (തിരുവിതാംകൂര്) and the Cochin kingdoms. It was adapted by the combined state of Thiru-Kochi after India's independence and later adapted by the state of Kerala after its formation on 1 November 1956. At the centre is a shield of leaves flanking the royal Conch Shell (Emblem of the Royal Travancore). Crested above it, four lions stand back-to-back facing four directions (only three are visible) on a circular abacus with a frieze carrying sculptures in high relief of a galloping horse on the left, a Dharmachakra in centre, a bull on the right, and the outlines of Dharmachakras on the extreme left and right as part of Sarnath's Ashoka Pillar. The shield is flanked on either side by elephant supporters (from the cochin kingdom) standing on a leafy compartment. Below the compartment lies written in Malayalam 'കേരള സര്ക്കാര്' , in English 'Government of kerala' and in stylized Devanāgarī, the national motto of India, "सत्यमेव जयते" (Satyameva Jayate, Sanskrit for "Truth Alone Triumphs"). This emblem is carried on all the official correspondences made by Government of Kerala.
