About Garuda Pancasila

Pancasila is the basic ideology of the Indonesian state. This name consists of two words from Sanskrit: pancha means five and Sila means principle or principles. Pancasila is the formulation of guidelines and national life for all Indonesian people.

Five major constituent joints Pancasila is on God, just and civilized humanity, the unity of Indonesia, democracy led by wisdom of deliberation / representation, and social justice for all Indonesian people, and are listed in 4th paragraph Preambule (Opening) Act of 1945.

Despite the change in the content and sequence of five principles of Pancasila which takes place in several stages during the formulation of Pancasila in 1945, June 1 is celebrated as the birth of Pancasila.
